The short answer: downtown meters cost $2–$6 an hour and are enforced into the night, as late as midnight and around the clock in some zones, so the old “free after 6 p.m.” rule no longer holds. The Music City Center garage starts at $15. At BNA, parking is now $24 a day in Economy, $36 in the terminal garages and $48 for valet. An expired meter ticket runs about $70.

Metro Nashville’s on-street meters cost $2–$6 an hour inside the Central Parking District downtown and $1–$4 an hour elsewhere, with a 10-hour maximum. Pay at the meter or by phone with ParkMobile.
Don’t count on free evenings. In 2023 Metro extended paid hours downtown: some spaces are now enforced 24 hours a day and others 6 a.m. to midnight, and Metro tripled its enforcement staff, who now use license plate readers. The hours and time limits for each space are on the sign at that space, and that sign is the rule.

Read the sign at your exact space every time. Hours, time limits and permit zones change block by block downtown, and older guides that say “free after 6 p.m.” or “free on Sundays” are out of date for much of downtown.

Parking Near Broadway Nashville

Nashville Airport Parking (BNA)
BNA raised its rates, closed Terminal Lot A on July 1, 2026, and went cashless. On-airport parking now runs $24 to $48 a day. For trips longer than a couple of days, a pre-booked off-airport lot with a shuttle is usually cheaper.
