Nashville Unscripted · Getting Around Nashville
WeGo transit Nashville in 2026: a $2 bus from the airport, free rides on game days, and one thing older guides still get wrong.
The short answer: WeGo Public Transit is Nashville’s bus system. A ride costs $2 for a 2-hour pass and a full day is $4. For visitors, the useful parts are Route 18 to and from BNA and the free rides on Titans and Nashville SC game days. There is no free downtown circulator anymore.
âš The Free Downtown Bus Is Gone
Plenty of travel sites still send visitors looking for the free Music City Circuit (Blue and Green lines). WeGo discontinued it around 2020, and it hasn’t come back. Downtown, the Gulch and Germantown are walkable, or a $4 day pass covers unlimited local bus rides.

Route 18 — Airport
$2 · BNA ↔ Downtown
Picks up at the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2 and runs to the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central downtown. Since July 5, 2026, it runs every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and every 40 minutes in the evening. Express trips take about 20 minutes; local trips take 35 to 45. Luggage is allowed.
All Local Routes — Titans Home Games
Free · 2026 NFL Season
Fares are free on every local bus route on Titans home game days. Routes 4, 14, 23, 41 and 56 get closest to Nissan Stadium. Express buses and the Titans Express train still cost extra.
Routes 52 & 77 — GEODIS Park
Free All Day · Nashville SC Home Matches
Route 52 Nolensville Pike and Route 77 Thompson/Wedgewood are free all day on every Nashville SC regular-season home match day.
Route 84 — Murfreesboro
$2 · Weekend Nashville SC Matches
Runs to weekend home matches from the Murfreesboro and Antioch park-and-ride lots for $2 each way.
WeGo Fares and How to Pay
| Fare (Adult, Local Bus) | Price |
|---|---|
| 2-hour pass (unlimited rides) | $2 |
| Full day | $4 |
| Calendar month | $65 |
| Cash single ride | $2, exact change, no transfers |
- Tap your card or phone. WeGo takes contactless credit and debit cards and mobile wallets, but not American Express.
- QuickTicket is WeGo’s reloadable card and app. Details at QuickTicketTN.com.
- Cash is exact change only. Drivers can’t make change, and a cash fare doesn’t include transfers.
- Questions in person: Customer Care is at the Elizabeth Duff Transit Center at WeGo Central downtown.
Should You Take the Bus from BNA?
Route 18 costs $2. A taxi from BNA to downtown is a $30 flat fare, and parking at BNA starts at $24 a day. Even so, Route 18 carried about 172,000 riders last fiscal year, about 0.7% of BNA’s 24.7 million passengers in 2025.
💡 When the Bus Makes Sense
Take Route 18 if you’re traveling light, your hotel is near WeGo Central downtown, and you land between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., when buses come every 30 minutes. With big suitcases, a group, or a late-night arrival, the $30 flat taxi or a rideshare from the same Ground Transportation Center is the better call.
WeGo Tips for Visitors
- Use the Transit app or Google Maps for live times. WeGo publishes its schedules there, and frequency varies a lot by route and time of day.
- Buy the $4 day pass if you’ll ride twice. Two separate 2-hour passes cost the same, and the day pass covers any extra rides.
- Plan around game days. On Titans home game days, every local route is free. On Nashville SC match days, routes 52 and 77 are free.
- Don’t wait for a downtown loop bus. The free Music City Circuit no longer runs. Walk, or use a regular route on a day pass.
