AmericanaFest — officially the Americana Music Festival & Conference — is the annual gathering of the Americana Music Association. It combines an industry conference (panels, networking, label meetings) with a public-facing festival of showcases across Nashville’s live music venues.
The festival draws artists, label executives, journalists, and music fans from across the country. For visitors, the experience is entirely in the showcases — ticketed shows at venues like the Ryman, Cannery Ballroom, 3rd and Lindsley, The Station Inn, and dozens of other Nashville rooms.
The highlight of the public programming: the Americana Music Association Awards Show at the Ryman Auditorium, which closes the festival week with one of Nashville’s best annual concerts.

Free Access
The Musicians Corner AmericanaFest Showcase on Saturday, September 18 at Centennial Park is completely free and open to the public. This is the best way to experience AmericanaFest without purchasing a wristband — free outdoor concert, family-friendly, dogs welcome. See our Musicians Corner Nashville guide for what to expect.
Several bars and venues along Broadway and East Nashville also host unofficial AmericanaFest shows during the week — free or low cover, walk-in friendly. The week has a genuine energy across the city even if you don’t hold a wristband.
AmericanaFest Wristbands and Tickets
Official AmericanaFest access comes in two forms:
- Industry Wristband — full access including conference panels, networking events, and all showcases. Requires Americana Music Association membership. This is the industry-facing credential.
- Fan Wristband — showcase access without conference events. The right choice for music fans attending for the shows rather than the industry programming. Available at americanamusic.org.
- Individual Show Tickets — most AmericanaFest showcases can also be ticketed individually through the venue box office. Good option if you only want to attend specific shows.
Best Venues for AmericanaFest Showcases

Where to Stay for AmericanaFest
AmericanaFest spreads across Nashville’s best music venues — which means no single neighborhood puts you closest to everything. The best strategy depends on which shows you’re prioritizing.
- Downtown/SoBro — walking distance to Ryman, Cannery, and Broadway venues. Most convenient for the Awards Show.
- East Nashville — the neighborhood most aligned with Americana’s aesthetic. Great restaurants, independent hotels, VRBO inventory. 10–15 min rideshare to Ryman.
- 12 South/Gulch — close to Station Inn and City Winery. Walkable neighborhood with excellent restaurants.
