Nashville Oktoberfest is one of the most fun fall events in the city — four days of German beer, live music, food, and events that range from family-friendly to unabashedly adult.
Nashville Oktoberfest 2026 runs Thursday through Sunday, October 1–4 at Bicentennial Mall State Park on Rosa Parks Boulevard — steps from the Tennessee State Capitol. General admission tickets start at $10 with kids 3 and under free. The full weekend includes live music, food vendors, beer gardens, a brat-eating contest, stein-holding competition, and the crowd favorite: the dachshund derby.

Nashville Oktoberfest is a genuine festival — not just a beer garden with a German flag. The four-day event covers the full Bicentennial Mall grounds and includes:
- Beer garden — German and craft beers, steins, and seasonal drinks throughout the event. This is the anchor of the festival.
- Live music — multiple stages with performers across the weekend including German bands, local Nashville acts, and themed entertainment.
- Food vendors — brats, pretzels, schnitzel, and Nashville food truck regulars mixed with German-themed food throughout the grounds.
- Brat-eating contest — competitive eating at its most Nashville-appropriate. Spectator-friendly and genuinely entertaining.
- Stein-holding competition — hold a full stein at arm’s length for as long as possible. Harder than it sounds after the beer garden.
- Dachshund derby — the weekend highlight for families. Small dogs, maximum enthusiasm, zero predictability.

Metro Courthouse Garage — 101 James Robertson Pkwy, about 5 minutes walk. $5 on evenings and weekends — one of the best deals downtown. Music City Center Garage — about 10 minutes walk, $15–$25. Street parking — meters go free after 6pm on weekdays and all day Sunday. Saturday and Thursday have metered enforcement until 6pm.

Nashville Oktoberfest Tips
- Arrive early for the dachshund derby. It’s the most popular event and draws a crowd. Get there early to claim a good viewing spot.
- Bring cash for vendors. Most vendors accept cards but cash speeds up transactions significantly at a busy festival.
- Thursday is the least crowded day. If you have flexibility, Thursday evening is significantly calmer than Friday night or Saturday.
- Saturday is the busiest day. Peak crowds, longest lines, best energy. Plan for a crowd and enjoy it.
- Kids 3 and under are free. Great family event — the dachshund derby and vendor area are genuinely kid-friendly.
- Pair it with Germantown. Bicentennial Mall sits at the edge of Nashville’s most historically German neighborhood. Walk through Germantown for dinner before or after — excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.

Bicentennial Mall borders Germantown — Nashville’s oldest neighborhood and historically its most German-influenced. The connection is real: Germantown was settled by German immigrants in the 1850s and still has the best restaurant density of any Nashville neighborhood outside downtown.
Walking from Oktoberfest into Germantown for dinner is the move. Dozens of excellent restaurants within a 10-minute walk. No reservations needed for most — just walk in after the festival crowd thins.
