Broadway operates under Nashville’s Solo Cup Law — bars pour your drink into a plastic to-go cup so you can walk between venues. No glass bottles or cans outside. Open containers are legal on Broadway in plastic cups from licensed establishments. - Go Tuesday through Thursday for smaller crowds and the same music. Weekends are shoulder-to-shoulder from 8pm on.
- Start at the east end (1st Avenue) and walk west toward 5th. The older honky tonks are toward the east end — Tootsie’s, Legends Corner. The celebrity bars cluster in the middle and west.
- Ground floors are almost always free. Pay to go up only if you want the view or a specific experience.
- The music starts early. Bands play from late morning. Afternoon Broadway (2pm-6pm) is a genuinely great experience with smaller crowds.
